ICF Approves Coaches' Coaching Circle Hours
For Credentialing Credit Hours
United States of America (Press Release) March 5, 2008 --
The Coaching Circle has been approved to provide
credentialing credit hours by the credentialing board of the
International Coaching Federation.
The International Coaching Federation has
established minimum standards in regards to the
credentialing of professional coaches and training
organizations. These standards help assure the public that
the participating coaches and coach training agencies have
met minimum requirements, and also reinforces the fact that
coaching is a recognized, specialized and self-regulating
profession.
‘We are pleased that the Coaches’
Coaching Circle program meets these rigorous standards,’
stated Helen Burton, CEC, ACC, President of Love Yourself
Coaching and founder of the Coaches’ Coaching Circle, ‘and
as a member you receive coaching from an experienced coach,
payment for coaching clients and hours towards the ICF
credential.’
The
Coaches Coaching Circle gives each participant the
opportunity to coach another participant each month, as well
as to receive coaching services by another participant in
the program. The program is open to coaches who have
graduated from a coaching school and who have coached others
for at least one year.
The program offers an effective and
inexpensive method for sharpening coaching skills through
hands on experience. Hours spent coaching as part of the
Coaches’ Coach Circle count towards the required number of
hours for ICF credentialing.source: FPR
‘Getting a coaching practice up and
running – and profitable – is a formidable task,” says Helen
Burton. “There are many myths and misconceptions about how
to build a successful coaching practice. Coaching schools
are wonderful to help you learn to be a great coach, but you
need access to people to build as well. With the help of
this
program – and the coaches involved with it - one can begin
to achieve mastery.”
The cost for participation is $200 per month. However, each
participant also receives $150 per month for providing
coaching services to other members of the Circle, resulting
in a net cost of $50 per month.
“While speaking to other coaches it was
evident they were finding it challenging to obtain hours for
ICF credentials. I created the Coaches’ Coaching Circle to
provide a way for coaches to obtain ICF hours and at the
same time receive payment for coaching services that were
provided,” said Ms. Burton.
