The Coaches’ Coaching Circle has added a new educational series. We have invited the most dynamic, successful leaders in our industry to speak with coaches each month. This opportunity gives coaches an opportunity to learn first-hand what action steps are needed to build profitable coaching businesses.
The first presenter was Dave Buck, Master Certified Coach and CEO of CoachVille.
My take-away from Dave’s presentation. He spoke about how we grew up in the Industrial Age and worked for compensation by completing tasks. No wonder we are unhappy and looking for something else. Things are changing we are coming into the Inspiration Age (Dave’s term). Where we will play and find joy again.
When playing we will be compensated for giving value, have fun, receive results and wealth.
The object of the Game is to have an objective/purpose and daily focus on Visibility, Enrollment and Fulfillment. Also, treat challenges as a good thing and find solutions.
My Daily Plan
Your Turn
What daily steps are you going to initiate while playing the Game? I can’t wait to hear from you and let’s support each other.
For those of you on the call please let me know your thoughts and if I missed anything. My email address is helen@loveyourselfcoaching.net.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hitch your Wagon to a star.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
One morning as you are drinking your coffee, a powerful idea pops into your head: “Create a workshop for stay-at-home moms.” The workshop will provide friendship, support and a community project they can all work on together.
With your energy flowing, you sit down at your computer and create this workshop. Within hours the first draft is complete. WOW that feels good!
The next step is to create an enticing offer for your target market of Stay-At-Home Moms.
Working with Maribeth Pelly, we always use the following rules for creating an offer that sells.
Example:
- Interacting with other women who are struggling with the same issues
- Giving back to the community
- Opening the door to your creativity and leadership
- Your children will meet new playmates
- Etc.
Now It Is Your Turn!
Share your challenges and aha! moments with the Love Yourself-It Matters! Community. Working together we will create prosperous businesses.

“Love is, above all, the gift of oneself.”
~ Jean Anouilh
Today is Valentine’s Day and everyone is thinking about whom they love and who loves them. Are you forgetting the most important person, “YOU?”
Many years ago, I received an email stating the benefits of acknowledging yourself on Valentine’s Day. At first thinking how selfish, it made me think of how we always forget ourselves. Everyone comes first!
One night last week I was out with a friend and we decided after dinner to walk around the mall. It was very crowded and most people were carrying shopping bags. We were saying, how commercial Valentine’s Day had become and people were probably buying gifts for their loved ones. He then made a comment, “Why don’t they buy something for themselves?” We then decided to buy something for ourselves and each other. It was fun.
What are you going to do special for yourself today?
I am going to write myself a love letter!
Dear Helen,
I want to thank you for your kindness and understanding of all the times your negative thoughts had us spinning. You always acknowledged the thought and turned it into a positive way of thinking.
Your love of life, warmth, smile and personality always makes people feel comfortable and special. What a special gift you are giving to your family, friends and business partners.
Love Yourself Coaching has been a vehicle for you to support coaches in building prosperous businesses while loving themselves. Working together with your clients you have seen them take giant steps and find happiness within themselves.
I love you and enjoy your special day!
Helen
Now it is your time to take out that piece of paper and write yourself a love letter thanking “YOU” for who you are and the wonderful gifts you give to others. The letter can be for your eyes only. Be honest and go for it.
I want to thank you all for being part of the Love Yourself – It Matters! Community. You certainly have made a difference in my life.
Love,
Helen
“Get all the education you can,
but then, by God, do something.
Don’t just stand there;
make it happen.”
~ Lee Iococca
Reading Lee Iococca’s quote reminded me of when I first graduated from iPEC Coaching School and kept signing up for more trainings. I kept thinking I was not ready to go out there and coach. What if I did not ask the right questions, gave too much advice? The list goes on and on.
One day during a coaching session, my coach said in a very strong voice, “It is enough with the different trainings, just go out there and coach.” I became very defensive and explained why I needed more trainings. She did not want to continue the conversation and asked, “What were my next steps for marketing my coaching practice?” It was the greatest gift anyone ever gave me.
Once I started coaching clients my confidence grew and eventually I knew in my heart that I was a great coach. Taking that first step and letting the world know about “You” can be very frightening.
Let’s take a deep breath and take that leap! We are all in this together.
Some simple small steps you can take to overcome your FEAR. By the way, fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.
This solution is not a cop-out! It could be a way of practicing and getting feedback so your next workshop will be easier.
Let the Love Yourself – It Matters! Community know about your project and how we can support you. We are all in this together.
Johann Von Goethe
(German poet and writer)
Let’s take this quote apart and see how we can easily implement it.
The first step is to always allow things to change. We sometimes resist change and keep doing the same thing over and over wishing for a different result. It is like going to a bakery and looking for something to eat that does not have two calories. We continue doing the same thing until one day we realize nothing is going to change unless we take a different course of action.
Changing your course of action
The second step is to renew your passion. Sometimes we feel that we are continually climbing a mountain and our passion starts to diminish. We are only human and need a ray of sunshine to ignite our fire.
Ignite your fire
Rejuvenate Yourself
Do you take time for yourself? If you don’t, why not? Not enough time, you forget or feel it is not important. YOU ARE IMPORTANT!
I love the expression “In order not to feel resentful of others, take time for yourself first.” It has been proven over and over again when we schedule time for ourselves and then give to others, it is a special gift.
What are you going to do nice for yourself today? I am going to pick-up my grandson today from school, go to the library and then out for dinner before attending his Science Fair.
Please share with the Love Yourself – It Matters! Community what changes you are going to make, ignite your fire again and rejuvenate yourself.
Helen
“May you live all the days of your life.”
Jonathan Swift
Do you often ask yourself at the end of the day, “What did I accomplish today?” Not to worry, you are not alone. Many of us just move through our day going from task to task as the weeks, months and years fly by.
What could we do different? It is a Big Question!
Eckhart Tolle recommends living in the moment. This is a tall order!
Realizing that 2010 disappeared in a wink of an eye, I decided to follow Eckhart Tolle’s recommendation. Below are some of the steps I followed. To be honest, the process was not easy but as time went by it became easier and easier.
· While eating, consciously focus on the different food tastes.
· As my mind wanders, keep asking myself “What are you doing now?”
· Write down at the end of the day what made me happy today.
Taking these steps has enabled me to feel that I am living my day.
What will you do today to live in the moment and experience what is happening around you?
Please share with the Love Yourself – It Matters! Community the small changes you have made to become more aware of your day. Together we will support each other in becoming aware of what is going on in our day and not let the days blindly pass us by.

Play BIG in the World
Are you ready to play BIG in the world?
Playing BIG in the world means that you are fully expressing your talents and gifts in a way that adds maximum value to the lives of others while bringing joy and true wealth to your life at the same time! It means you wake up every day ready to play with purpose to create possibility vs. going to work on tasks and problems.
To play BIG you have to be willing and able to step up and stand out! You have to be willing to take a risk and be seen and known for who you really are and then boldly share your value with colleagues and customers. You must be clear about your value to others and live true to your purpose in the world. It is challenging, engaging and thrilling at the same time.
The Spirit of Play is the key!
One key to playing BIG in your business or career is to energize your game with the spirit of play! With the spirit of play you tap into a major human energy source that releases your creativity, resourcefulness, resilience and desire to have fun doing what you do. When you do this on a daily basis, you attract opportunities because the people around you are drawn to the energy.
Based on our fundamental understanding that all humans are born with the ability AND desire to play we developed a fundamental theory that ANY endeavor in life can be played as a winnable game. We call our method Play- Two-Win tm because as a coach you only win when your player wins and as a player you only win when your whole team wins. This becomes another point of attraction because people will love playing on your team because they know that you are playing for them to win also.
Traditional methods for coaching and personal growth are often not effective because they are focused on working on tasks and problems. We know that humans learn, grow and produce results better when they are playing and enjoying what they do. So if you want to play BIG in the world AND coach people who desire to play big in the world, you MUST learn this method.
This powerful playshop is designed for coaches AND anyone ready to play BIG in the world.

“Change your thoughts and change your world.”
Norman Vincent Peale
Do you wake up every morning and think today is going to be a good day? That is the true meaning of positive thinking.
Each morning as I open my eyes I hear Alice, my cat, meowing in a piercing sound. She wants to eat!
Getting out of bed quickly so she stops, my thoughts turn to my day. I have programed myself to think about what is happening and 3 things I want to accomplish. This exercise works for me and I feel motivated instantly.
You may ask me, “How can I start changing my thoughts in the morning?” Being honest, it does take time. Below are a few steps you can take to start the process:
· After opening your eyes in the morning give yourself a big hug
· Picture yourself sitting in a warm place feeling peaceful
· Say out loud or to yourself 3 things you are grateful for
· Think about your day and one nice thing you are going to do for yourself
Continue this exercise every morning for a week and see what happens.
Please let me know if you are feeling better in the morning and motivated to start your day. As Norman Vincent Peale says, “Change your thoughts and change your world.”
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
“Be Here Now”
Ram Dass
This morning I was watching a short video about enjoying the moment. It told a story about a man who was out for the day and driving towards the beach area. He suddenly realized his cell phone was not working. The man started obsessing about not being able to receive calls and what if someone needed him. He missed the beautiful scenery along the road. Finally, he decided to turn around and go back home. When he got back home and was able to check his phone no one had called. How sad!!
How many times do we keep thinking about something and the day disappears. I read some place once that over 90% of the things we worry about don’t happen.
Let’s make today a new way of being and stop ourselves when we start to obsess about something.
Some simple steps you can take when that annoying thought appears.
· Take a deep breath and close your eyes for a second.
· Say to yourself, “Be Here Now.”
· Think about what you are doing at that moment.
Your annoying thought will disappear and suddenly you will be living in the moment. Don’t be surprised if you have to practice this exercise at least 50 times a day. Eventually, you will start to only live in the moment.
Remember you are not alone I am right next to you doing the same thing.
Please share with the Love Yourself – It Matters! Community your progress.
This last Sunday there was a football game: the New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles defeated the Giants, 38-31, after being down 24-3 at halftime. The Eagles came back in the second half and DeSean Jackson, Eagles wide receiver, scored the winning touchdown within the final seconds of the game.
Everyone was in shock. No one expected the Eagles to win the game.
What can we learn from this situation? Keep going. You never know what can change within seconds.
I would like to tell you a little story. For the past 8 years I’ve been coaching many clients and I was continuously searching for my niche. Even though most of my clients were coaches, I would not acknowledge the fact I was a Coaches’ Coach. Like the Eagles, I kept playing my game and went from niche to niche. I was a Recovery Coach, a Relationship Coach, a Retirement Coach and a Get Off the Diet Merry-Go-Round Coach.
Finally, after soul searching and working with my own coach, I realized my niche had found me. I am a Coaches’ Coach. My mission is “To support coaches to build prosperous businesses while loving themselves.”
Sometimes we feel the climb is uphill and other times we are surprised by the responses we receive.
Keep stepping out of your comfort zone, taking action steps, get a coach and you’ll see that within seconds things can change.
Please share with the Love Yourself – It Matters! Community what circumstances have changed, within seconds, while following your path.
The end of the year is approaching. Have you been thinking about 2010 and what has been accomplished?
I was working with my coach the other day and she asked me about my achievements in 2010. My first line of defense was that I just maintained my coaching practice and not really moved forward. After taking a deep breath, I reminded myself about the wonderful opportunities that presented themselves during the year.
During 2010, Love Yourself Coaching moved forward and experienced many achievements. The one that has brought me the most pleasure was discovering Love Yourself Coaching’s Mission. Its mission is to support coaches in loving themselves while they build prosperous businesses.
Below is a little exercise that will support you in reminding yourself about the opportunities and miracles that presented themselves in 2010. Read over the steps and complete the exercise. Remember there is no right or wrong.
· Take a deep breath and let your mind wander.
· After a few seconds start focusing on your breathing.
· When you feel relaxed, think about 2010.
· Focus on one moment that brought you joy. Was it working with a client, rolling out a new program, etc.
· Live that moment and feel the excitement.
· Let the thoughts go and just relax.
· When you are ready open your eyes.
· Write about the experience in your journal, or call a friend and share the experience or brag about it in the Love Yourself – It Matters! Community comment section below.
I am looking forward to working together in 2011. Let’s start a Coaching Movement to increase the business prosperity for each and every coach.
What sunshine is to flowers,
smiles are to humanity.
They are but trifles, to be sure;
but, scattered along life’s pathway,
the good they do is inconceivable.
~Joseph Addison
What caught my attention reading Joseph Addison’s quote was the word ”sunshine.” Here in New Jersey the winter days are cold and dreary. I would love to feel the summer sun again.
As my husband always said, “You can’t do anything about the weather so stop worrying about it.” How true!
My next thought was how can I brighten my spirit and feel the sunshine within. On to another challenge!
I reread Joseph Addison’s quote again and learned that smiles are our sunshine. Feeling empowered, I put on my coat and went to Dunkin Donuts for coffee. Holding a cup of coffee in my hand does wonders for my morale.
As I walked into the store, I smiled at the first person I saw. He smiled back and then I smiled at someone else. Within minutes most of the people in the store were smiling and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
Driving home with my cup of coffee and a smile on my face, the sun came out.
Are you up to playing a little game? The next time you are in a store, smile at the first person you see. Continue smiling at everyone and see what happens.
Please share your experience with the members of the Love Yourself – It Matters! Community. Together let’s put smiles on people’s faces.
