Listening to Your Thoughts

Written on September 28th, 2010 by Helen Burton4 comments

Yesterday, out of the clear blue sky, I started thinking about my business and what a struggle it has been thru the years to enroll clients.

My thoughts turned to should I continue or start pursuing other options.  This thought gave me chills.  Making myself sit with these feelings was not an easy task.  I wanted to go for coffee, take a walk or read a book.

I sat in the chair knowing the answer was not to run away.  After a few minutes my thoughts turned to what I have accomplished in the last eight years.  Love Yourself Coaching offers three different Coaches’ Coaching Circles, the Monday Wake-Up Calls and individual coaching.  These programs provide support to coaches and entrepreneurs.  All of a sudden, I started feeling excited about my business and how I was helping others succeed.

The key is to feel your feelings.  During that process you will find new solutions or remind yourself of your accomplishments

Please share with the Love Yourself – It Matters! Community what your fears are and together we will support each other.

Business Owners Can Feel Their Feelings

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will.
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill.
…When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must – but don’t quit.

How many times have we heard that we have to change this or that about our thinking.  It is easier said than done.

Let’s get real here!

I heard the comment recently, “We are a society of thinking we have to think positively all the time.”  This really struck me as crazy.  We are human beings and life happens.  We have reactions and sometimes they are not positive.

I have come up with a new way of thinking to let my feelings flow and if I need to cry it is permissible.  It is amazing giving myself permission the feelings change and I feel better.

Recently, I had a hard time being creative.  My days were spent responding to emails.  I was taking to a friend and during the conversation it dawned on her that I was feeling very sad and had no energy to be creative.

Once I realized why the creative juices were not flowing a miracle happened and I started to experience my energy returning.

Moral of story if you feel your feelings we move forward quicker.

Please share your experiences with the Love Yourself – It Matters Community so we do not feel alone on our journeys.
