Love Yourself - IT MATTERS

November / 2009

Monday is a special day of the week for me. At 4:00 pm I stop whatever I am doing and drive to my grandson Jeffrey's school.

He walks down the hall to meet me around 4:10 pm. We then sneak into an empty classroom and do his homework. Some days it starts out being a hassle and other times he completes his homework very quickly.

What I realized is his state of mind. Sometimes he is very tired, needs a break and other times he is excited about something which keeps him motivated.

Isn't it amazing how we never change and what a big part our attitude plays in our lives?

Sometimes my attitude is in the pits and nothing will make me move forward. I have learned to just accept what is happening and within a short time things look brighter.

We are all human beings and experience different emotions during the day. The key is to be mindful of what is happening and give yourself permission to be kind to yourself.

I invite you to join me in the discussion of attitude shifting by emailing me your thoughts. My email address is helen@loveyourselfcoaching.net.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Finding Your Niche

We are taught from the very beginning, you need a niche.

I remember in the last session of my iPEC Coach Training, Bruce Schneider talking about the importance of having a niche.

At first I was terrified that I would never find my niche. Searching and researching became my full time job. I had many different niches during my coaching journey and never felt completely satisfied. Finally one day, I realized what I wanted was to help clients overcome challenges in a specific area that would inspire them. (Sounds familiar?)

Thinking about my passion it dawned on me many coaches were facing the same challenge of finding clients and accumulating hours for their ICF Certification. That is when I formed the Coaches' Coaching Circle.

The Coaches' Coaching Circle, an approved ICF program, offers you coaching from an experienced coach while at the same time providing income and hours towards your ICF credential.

If you are interested in finding out more about the
Coaches' Coaching Circle please click here.

Today I agree with all the experts it is very important to have a niche. It helps you focus on a specific market and tailor your materials to find clients who are experiencing the same challenges.

Please share your niche experiences with the Love Yourself - It Matters Community.

Contest News!

Congratulations! Hueina Su is the winner of the Business Building Technique Contest. She has won 3 months of advertising in the Love Yourself - It Matters Ezine.

Hueina's Tip:

"As for my business building tip, one of my favorite ones is sending online & local press releases. As a result of these press releases, I've gotten reporters who come to my events & writing feature stories of my event, being quoted on the front page of Daily Record, gotten speaking gigs, and recently being interviewed on a national magazine, etc. It didn't cost me anything to send press releases. The ROI is phenomenal. :)"

If you or someone you know is struggling with the emotional roller coaster of being unemployed, share this information with them. The Circle of Inspiration for the Unemployed, was developed because many otherwise successful individuals have lost their job and now feel insufficient and unmotivated.

Individuals that have been unemployed for several months start questioning their worth, their skills and their goals and this affects the mindset of the unemployed.

The Circle of Inspiration for the Unemployed extends the support that friends and family provides. The Circle offers objective feedback to help clarify the steps needed now to find rewarding and inspiring employment.

The Circle offers each member the opportunity to network with high quality professionals, mastermind with a certified coach, renew their spirit and set smart job search strategies for returning to the workforce.

Secrets for the Unemployed

"...knowing that, in the grand scheme of things,
we live in a world where rainy days
eventually give way to sunnier skies."

Jason Rogerson

While on our unemployed journey, Jason Rogerson's quote is worth repeating to ourselves constantly.

I know right now we are only focusing on what is not happening instead of the fact this is just a small portion of our lives. A day, month or year is just a blip in our lives.

Think back to the time when you were working, complaining about your job and wishing you could take a vacation. Now we look at that time as the sunny skies and today being unemployed as the rainy days.

It is all a matter of perception. How can we change our thinking and focus on the sunnier skies instead of the rainy ones?

Let’s start by taking small steps.

Are you up to playing a little game? It is called the Smiling Game.

  • Walk out your front door and go to the nearest coffee shop.

  • Walking into the coffee shop put a smile on your face. You don't have to mean it just use those smile muscles. It is a scientific fact when you use your smile muscles your body has no clue if you are smiling it just feels better.

  • Make eye contact with the first person you see with that smile on your face.

  • Continue smiling and making eye contact with everyone

Eventually your smile will become natural, people will start talking to each other and YOU will feel better.

A smile costs you nothing and lightens up the world.

Let's make Monday "Smile Day" and bring a little sunshine into everyone's day.

Starting today we will play our little game.

Please let the Love Yourself - It Matters Community know about your experiences as you were playing the Smile Game.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.
